Abortion is out of control

From 1980 to 2002, over 255,000 NZ babies were sacrificed to the gods of money, selfishness, and sexual anarchy. It looks to be tracking at around 24% now – that is, for every 1000 live births there are 240 terminations. From Demographic Trends 2003 at the Department of Statistics,

Abortion ratios (abortions per 1,000 live births plus abortions) provide an alternative measure for international comparison. The latest abortion ratio for New Zealand (240) is above that for Japan (217), and is lower than those for England and Wales (229), Canada (245), the United States (254), Sweden (258) and Australia (264).

In 1965, the birth rate was higher than it is now, yet the abortion rate was 0.1%.

Abortion is a risky medical procedure, and it is irresponsible of the NZ Abortion “Supervisory” Committee to continue to allow the open slather to continue.

Moloch must be pleased.

  1. Wow didn’t realise there were so many.

Are there stats on the average age of the mother and her relationship status?

Not that such stats would be completely reliable.

  2. I just read the Mirror article – thanks for linking to that. There seems to be no political interest in changing our laws from any of the main parties. I do know people who work with women – they run a Pregnancy Counselling service that isn’t pushing women into abortions but gives them support for carrying on with their pregnancy. But the statistics are still staggering.

  3. Hi Catez, I am dismayed about that. National has more family oriented people, they at least have a *few* voices for moral conservatism/culture of life (Labour has John Tamihere, but they do not comprehend him).

Off-topic, I appreciated your recent article about the “Open Late Cafe”. I used to hang out there quite often! Good times.
