Quote from the Watercooler: What People Think Of You

Heard early this morning:

“When I was in my 30’s I worried about what people thought about me. In my 40’s, I tried not to worry about what people thought about me. Now I’m in my 50’s and I realize that nobody was ever thinking about me to begin with.”

  1. You’re welcome.. I’m still in the 30’s bracket, and it’s liberating to realise that my actions mainly effect ME, others are mostly just observers. How pathetic it is to build one’s self-esteem on the ephemeral approval of others.
